{"id":528,"date":"2017-09-16T16:26:20","date_gmt":"2017-09-16T21:26:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0006\/?p=528"},"modified":"2017-09-17T15:58:57","modified_gmt":"2017-09-17T20:58:57","slug":"the-history-of-scorm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0006\/the-history-of-scorm\/","title":{"rendered":"The History of SCORM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I definitely got my geek flag flying for this one!<\/p>\n<h2>Why turn to SCORM?<\/h2>\n<p>The idea is to make software and systems like Learning Management Systems (LMS) play well together.<\/p>\n<p>If your content complies with SCORM, it can be used on any SCORM-compliant LMS, and any SCORM-compliant LMS can run SCORM-compliant content. If that sounds confusing, here&#8217;s an analogy:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\"><span style=\"color: #333399\"><em>You can play a DVD in any DVD player because the DVD content uses a set of standards, so you don\u2019t need a Toshiba-formatted DVD to play on a Toshiba player, or a Sony-formatted DVD to play on a Sony player, and so on.
