In my experience with academic writing, the biggest challenge\u00a0has been providing\u00a0enough detail and backing up my ideas. I\u2019ll have all these good ideas in my head and when I write, I\u2019ll\u00a0assume that the readers will know them as well.\u00a0The amount of information available to us through Royal Road University\u2019s\u00a0Writing Center<\/a>\u00a0is remarkable. I especially found\u00a0the Planning the Paper<\/a>\u00a0video useful since once again, providing enough detail\u00a0has been challenging\u00a0for me and this video showed me how to plan my ideas first before I start writing. I wish I watched this video at the beginning of this program.<\/p>\n

Writing in APA style has not been a big problem for me since I am familiar with tools that can help with APA citations and sources through teaching them in my classes. The tools that I found very useful are:<\/p>\n

  1. MS Word\u00a0Citations & Bibliography<\/a>\u00a0Tool, which I\u00a0have used\u00a0in my classes and my students found it very helpful.<\/li>\n
  2. Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, which\u00a0was recommended\u00a0at the beginning of the program. I have been using it and the example papers have been great for me to use as guide.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I know that I have to help the readers connect the dots in my writing and\u00a0offer\u00a0more detail, and that is what I will work on going forward.<\/p>\n
