in the\u00a0empathy step of the design challenge, I collected feedback from the online instructors and the students by a survey, after reviewing the feedback I received, I was definitely able to change my focus based on that information.\u00a0 I also studied the define step in the Bootcamp bootleg and learned how to have an actionable statement which can be described as the Point of View (POV). \u201cMore than simply defining the problem to work on, your point of view is your unique design vision that you crafted based on your discoveries during your empathy work\u201d (Stanford, 2016, p. 2).<\/p>\n

So far I have the following POV statement:<\/p>\n

The online instructors must focus on the students’ engagement from the beginning of their courses as it is a big factor towards their success.<\/p>\n

I would also like to use\u00a0How Might We (HMW) questions to be able to look deeper into the POV statement and come up with solutions to this problem. \u201cHMWs are seeds for your ideation that fall out of your point-of-view statement, design principles, or insights\u201d (Stanford, 2016, p. 26).<\/p>\n
