The analytical approach could be considered a post-mortem of sorts while the problem-oriented method is focused on solving a current issue. There are other types of case studies, such as those used for marketing, self-promotion, or applications for awards or professional designations.<\/p>\n<p>The article distinguishes between a case (the situation) and case study (analysis or problem-solving)<\/p>\n<p>Elements of the case study are identified:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Synopsis\/Executive Summary<\/li>\n<li>Findings<\/li>\n<li>Discussion<\/li>\n<li>Conclusion<\/li>\n<li>Recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Implementation<\/li>\n<li>References<\/li>\n<li>Appendices (if any)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It seems odd the conclusion would be reached prior to the recommendations or implementation section.
