Commenced re-review of modality and researched possible aspects of Lynda.com.<\/p>\n

Monday, April 23<\/strong><\/p>\n

Requested feedback on three new questions of research.<\/p>\n

1)<\/strong> Could embedded course related discussion or forum-based communities help enhance a curated video library modality such as Lynda.com?<\/p>\n

2)<\/strong> As a standalone digital learning environment, does the curated video library modality Lynda.com offer enough variability to instil perceptual arousal and inquiry arousal as per John Keller\u2019s ARCS Motivation Model?<\/p>\n

3)<\/strong> Could virtual reality (video) be the step in video-based learning on a curated video library modality such as Lynda.com?<\/p>\n

Received feedback and recommended revised questions from Dr. DeVries based upon original three queries.<\/p>\n

Question 1:<\/strong> What assumptions about independent learning are evident through the lack of discussion or forum-based tools in Lynda.com, and what alternatives could help support communities of learning and practice in video-based learning?<\/p>\n

Question 2:<\/strong> As a standalone learning environment, is there a consistent instructional design approach or pattern in a selection of Lynda.com videos (e.g. ARCS or others)? If so, what are its features and if not, what could be improved in this regard?<\/p>\n

Question 3:<\/strong> What are the promises and critiques of VR in learning and education, how how does that technology compare with the current state of video-based learning?<\/p>\n

Writers block continues. Therefore, I focused my efforts into research. Acquired a formidable list of supporting academic documents as well as online articles and blogs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Eventually I requested further clarification on the format of this Individual Learning Plan. Dr. DeVries response is located on the associated Moodle course.<\/p>\n
