Veletsianos answered two questions regarding his process for research, which can be summarized as \u201cWhat are the first steps you take to get the whole thing rolling?\u201d and \u201cWhat were your motivations to do these studies?\u201d (Valetsianos, 2017)<\/p>\n<p>The biggest takeaway from his answers, for me, was that his research questions emerged out of sincere interest in the subject matter and concern for the potential his research may have to the larger community.<\/p>\n<p>In his answer to the first question, Veletsianos said that he had been living and breathing the subject matter for some time (Veletsianos, 2017). In his answer to the second question, he also referenced a personal interest in issues that affect members of his community (Veletsianos, 2017).<\/p>\n<p>For many of us, research is a new undertaking and we do not have years of experience with research questions, as such, percolating in our minds. Despite not having this experience, however, we have professional experiences and personal interests to draw on.
