{"id":520,"date":"2018-02-12T18:04:06","date_gmt":"2018-02-13T02:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0028\/?p=520"},"modified":"2018-02-12T18:19:16","modified_gmt":"2018-02-13T02:19:16","slug":"assignment-2-post-1-trends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0028\/assignment-2-post-1-trends\/","title":{"rendered":"Assignment #2 &#8211; Post 1: Trends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For a Foundations of Adult Education course (PIDP 3100) assignment, a fellow student and I partnered to discuss recent trends in adult learning.\u00a0 We each found an article about a trend of interest and shared our learnings from our respective articles.\u00a0The trends in adult education that my partner and I discussed were microlearning and augmented intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Jaclyn, my assignment partner, identified some key elements from the microlearning trend in our discussion.and from Kamilali &amp; &amp; Sofianopoulou (2015)\u2019s article. Microlearning is creating learning that can be digested in short time increments \u2013 approximately three to five minutes. It is dynamic, media-rich and delivers content in small pieces, rather than one large module. Also, it highlights the need for learners to have an experience. This is an important trend due to the cognitive abilities of learners and to fulfill the need for learning to be developed fast in line with the quickly changing environments faced by organizations today.<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 article I chose by Crowe and Kebirtichi discussed how augmented intelligence can be implemented in a company or learning institution through knowledge-based systems (KBS). It lets computer systems use big data to curate specific content for learners.
