{"id":352,"date":"2018-09-16T13:05:22","date_gmt":"2018-09-16T17:05:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0055\/?p=352"},"modified":"2018-10-08T15:27:34","modified_gmt":"2018-10-08T19:27:34","slug":"352-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0055\/352-2\/","title":{"rendered":"History of Contemporary Training &amp; Development: a 1950s to late 2000s timeline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After reading Raiser, Weller and Watters (2014) about the history of instructional design and educational\u00a0technology, I thought I&#8217;d provide a historical timeline on how I believe companies have adopted learning systems and media, also referred to as <em>technologies<\/em>\u00a0(Reiser, 2001), to deliver employee training from 1950 until the late 2000s. There are a number of technologies the corporate world has adopted faster, more extensively and in different variation than the educational world. Specifically, ISD models such as the ADDIE, computer-based or web-based learning, and training deployment and management through a company LMS,\u00a0have been efficient and cost-effective\u00a0tools in the hands of corporate training and development teams during the last few decades.<\/p>\n<p>What instructional technologies do you consider being used more successfully\u00a0in education rather than in corporate training or vice-versa?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">References<\/p>\n<p>Allencom (2018, September 16).
