Summary

My teaching, training, and research interests include field research (Human Resources, hospitality, and training and development) studies. During each of my relocations across-country, I enjoyed traveling by car exploring each of our many hidden treasures in Canada (Finding Victoria, BC the best fit). As a board member for AAA and Junior B Hockey Associates, I have traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe managing Canadian Hockey qualifying tournaments. I am dedicated to the Hospice Associations and can be found fundraising for annual gala’s and running the hockey for hospice programs. I brought the first Special Olympics to Northern Saskatchewan, focusing on youth inclusiveness, fun, and motivating, “I can” environment while teaching by day and running a First Nations community by night.

Experience

I am currently a Human Resource Training and Development Officer, opening a one of a kind master planned resort living community.  – A role that enables me to coach and support associates with the five-star recruitment process; ROI for training initiatives, safe return to work programs, developing and sustaining high-performance team building, performance reviews, succession planning initiatives, and wellness management. This experience is achieved from The Fairmont and a Resort living community.

Credentials

I hold a Bachelor of International Hotel Management from Royal Roads University, B.C (President’s Scholar Award 2017) and a BA in Human Resources Management from Davenport University, Michigan USA (honours). I have also worked as a broker for pension and benefits for eight years.  Completed my Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor, ON specialized in Teaching English as a Second Language and Special Needs, Certified in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. I am currently working on my MA in Learning and Technology; Certificate Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation. Soon after completion, I plan to write my Certification Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.

My previous education allowed me to work individually, one-on-one and in team environments.  I believe having a variation of classroom structures to build on different types of learning styles allows each of my classmates and me to excel in the program giving back to an active learning community.
