According to York Univerity (n.d.), &#8220;a\u00a0[good] research question is a clear, focused, concise, complex and arguable question around which you center your research&#8221; (pg. 1).\u00a0According to Mark Regan, a good research question:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Is not convoluted (understandable)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Is not overreaching in breadth of topic (not too general &#8211; or irrelevant)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Allows for effective experiments to proceed (if experiments are needed)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Is answerable<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Intends to better the knowledge and understanding of the topic being explored<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Allows for follow-up research to take place in order to further progress within the topic<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"TbwUpd\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\"><cite class=\"iUh30\">York University Writing Centre.
