3<\/strong> Thoughts I have about digital facilitation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Summarizing thoughts and ideas on a platform where learners are asked to engage really helps to propel the conversation.<\/li>\n
  2. Using technology to create fun activities that don\u2019t necessarily count for marks but still engage supports a course\u2019s social presence and overall feeling of satisfaction. For example, Team 3\u2019s uses of a crossword puzzle demonstrated this in application.<\/li>\n
  3. Having contingencies in place (technology, content, activities) will help a facilitator pivot much more easily.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    2<\/strong> Questions I have about digital facilitation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. As a facilitator, what are best practices to leverage innovative digital tools while simultaneously protecting learner data and privacy?<\/li>\n
    2. When engaging in digital facilitation how does one intentionally foster the notion of a brave and inclusive space while navigating the nuances of digital learning?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      As I gathered my three thoughts, I realized my thoughts have shifted to more practical concerns of digital facilitation. My first 3-2-1 activity<\/a> looked at high level general concepts and I think after experiencing this facilitation course and getting into the weeds so to speak, I learned that theory is important, but ultimately how you apply it to your context is imperative.<\/p>\n

      As for my two questions, they are similar to my first blog post but more in-depth. As I moved through this facilitation course, I started to consider more factors around my original questions, such as privacy and the ethical use of data. As well, strategies to remain inclusive but still foster constructive conflict, is something I am still reflecting on. This is an instance of the more you know, the more you realize you do not know.<\/p>\n

      Lastly, my metaphor remains the same as my original metaphor. The more I looked at images or tried to come up with different metaphors that represented my thoughts on digital facilitation the more I came back to \u2018Never be afraid to try new things\u2019. It held true as my group planned out our facilitation week and decided to try approaches we hadn\u2019t attempted before. We saw some work well, while some didn\u2019t work as well. The experience and journey of this taught us a lot. Digital facilitation forces us to keep moving forward because the ever-evolving technology aspects and diversity of students.
