While it is true that continuous learning is inherent in clinicians and staff that works in healthcare settings, the challenge I have observed in my organization is that most staff and clinicians find it challenging to integrate digital upskilling in their daily practices. For example, our surveys and focus groups showed that most clinicians and administrative staff know the basics of how to use the clinical systems but when faced with complex tasks in clinical documentation, the initial gut is to ask the person beside them that may inadvertently teach them bad practices. There have also been instances where an issue with workflow practice is instantly deemed as a lack of training when the latter is more of the issue. Hence, I believe there is an opportunity to explore ways to support our staff in their digital practices so they could become more proactive in assessing issues, e.g., is it workflow or technical\/digital practice issues? My research will be grounded in the Community of Inquiry framework and guided by adult learning, social-constructivism, and self -determination theories.<\/p>\n With this action research in mind, my audience is stakeholders from healthcare organizations. I envision that the groups that will be interested in my research are clinical\/unit leaders, clinical educators, staff, and decision-makers.
