{"id":441,"date":"2021-08-29T16:33:55","date_gmt":"2021-08-29T19:33:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0157\/?p=441"},"modified":"2021-08-29T16:33:55","modified_gmt":"2021-08-29T19:33:55","slug":"activity-1-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0157\/activity-1-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Activity 1-4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt\"><strong>3-2-1 Blog Post<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Below you will find a number of items written in response to some prompts on <a href=\"https:\/\/malat-coursesite.royalroads.ca\/lrnt528\/schedule\/unit-1\/#1-4\">Activity 1-4 for LRNT528<\/a>, namely: three initial thoughts\/ideas\/feelings on digital facilitation, two questions I have about it, and one metaphor\/simile about it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 Thoughts\/Ideas\/Feelings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Uncertainty:<\/span> Having been out of facilitation for years, and my previous experience in digital facilitation being email-based, I&#8217;m uncertain as to my ability in digital facilitation.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Passion and Knowledge:<\/span> Okay, so I&#8217;m cheating a bit as these are clearly separate ideas. In my defence, I believe that it&#8217;s important to have both since one without the other leaves the learning experience lacking.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Teachers are Learners:<\/span> Having said the above, it&#8217;s impossible to know it all. That&#8217;s part of that uncertainty and, I believe, facilitators (digital or otherwise) can never truly know everything. The key, then, is to be shift from being experts to being directors and co-learners with students, directing learners to concepts and information resources, offering your knowledge and experience while learning from theirs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 Questions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. While perhaps basic, if one is coming from a in-person facilitation background, how might one the skills or process for digital facilitation differ?<\/p>\n<p>2.
