{"id":291,"date":"2021-08-31T19:12:10","date_gmt":"2021-09-01T02:12:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0159\/?p=291"},"modified":"2021-08-31T19:12:10","modified_gmt":"2021-09-01T02:12:10","slug":"lrnt-528-3-2-1-reflection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0159\/lrnt-528-3-2-1-reflection\/","title":{"rendered":"LRNT 528 3-2-1 Reflection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three (3) initial thoughts about digital facilitation<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Online\/digital learning experiences allow for learners to learn \u201con the go\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The level of student participation in a online course community<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s important to be clear about facilitator presence at the beginning of an online course\/learning experience<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Two (2) Questions about digital facilitation<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>How do you determine the appropriate level of facilitated\/instructor presence for individual context\/situation?<\/li>\n<li>How to strike the right balance in creating a supportive online course community regarding the expectation of active participation when not all learners choose to participate as much as others?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Metaphor<\/p>\n<p>Based on my experience as a learner in online environments as well the readings for this unit, online forum posts seem to be recommended as best practice to replicate the class discussion of face-to-face courses. But a Boettcher stated, \u201cSome students may choose not to participate very actively at all; other students find it is the best way for them to learn in an online setting.
