When I read the outline of this assignment, I immediately thought to myself \u201cwell I don\u2019t have experience in instructional design so I don\u2019t think I have any tools in my toolkit.\u201d Thankfully, upon doing the readings and reflecting on what a \u201ctool\u201d is, I have many at my disposal.<\/span><\/p>\n As a teacher, you need to have many \u201ctools\u201d at your disposal at any given time in order to create lessons, instruct, pivot, provide feedback, collaborate with your colleagues, etc.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure there are so many instances where \u201ctools\u201d I use have become so reflexive that I don\u2019t even consider them tools anymore.\u00a0 There are many factors that may influence what tool you use, some of which include context, desired outcome, need, availability, time, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In my design practice, I identified Brave, Resilient, Organized, Empathetic as my superpowers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Brave:<\/strong> I believe you have to be brave to be innovative, tackle design and instructional challenges, and try new things.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Resilient:<\/strong> Things don\u2019t always go as planned, and I know I can bounce back when things do wrong.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Flexible:<\/strong> I can adapt to changing situations and needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Organized:<\/strong> Being organized brings me joy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Empathetic:<\/strong> I always put the needs of my students first.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0I put the note *in progress* at the top of my graphic because I am sure I forgot some, and know that I am always evolving and learning so will be adding to this list.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" When I read the outline of this assignment, I immediately thought to myself \u201cwell I don\u2019t have experience in instructional design so I don\u2019t think I have any tools in my toolkit.\u201d Thankfully, upon doing the readings and reflecting on what a \u201ctool\u201d is, I have many at my disposal.
