{"id":222,"date":"2021-06-28T15:25:34","date_gmt":"2021-06-28T22:25:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0211\/?p=222"},"modified":"2021-06-28T15:25:34","modified_gmt":"2021-06-28T22:25:34","slug":"what-makes-a-good-research-question","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/malat-webspace.royalroads.ca\/rru0211\/what-makes-a-good-research-question\/","title":{"rendered":"What makes a good research question?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Factors that contribute to a good research question include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Defining the types of data that will be collected to generate evidence supporting or not supporting the hypothesis or theory<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">This includes identifying whether the data is qualitative or quantitative in nature, and the purpose or impact of the data collected<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Advantages of mixed research include the combination of quantitative and qualitative research in order to generate strong, well-rounded evidence (Johnson and Christensen, 2014)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Narrowing the scope of the research so that a singular hypothesis or limited number of hypotheses is being investigated<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">This will help eliminate confounding factors, bias, decrease the scale of the study, and increase the replicability of the method<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Corroborated findings demonstrate the validity of the data and evidence and lend to the statistical significance of the evidence in support of the hypotheses (Johnson and Christensen, 2014)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>References<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">Johnson, R., &amp; Christensen, L.
