Dr. Brenna Clarke Gray is an educational technologist at Thompson Rivers University. Dr. Clarke Gray holds a Ph.D. in Canadian Literature. She is also a practitioner, researcher, and academic podcaster. Dr. Clarke Gray started her career as an English teacher at the college level. In her current role at Thompson University as an educational technologist, she was part of a team that created the podcast; You Got This. They made the podcast to help faculty during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. It has provided educators with support with their teaching in a different and convenient format. In addition, Dr. Clarke Gray has become a strong advocate for ethical and student-centered approaches to educational technology. She wrote a chapter in Academic Integrity in Canada entitled Ethics, EdTech, and the Rise of Contract Cheating (Gray, 2002).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Clarke Gray has a passion for removing the inequities in post-secondary education. She recently was a keynote speaker at BC Campus\u2019 Cascadia Open Education Summit, where she presented her Manifesto for the Future: My Hopes for the Post-Pandemic University. One area she focused on in her presentation was educational technology and, more specifically, educational technology used in the surveillance of the students. Dr. Clarke Gray wanted to bring light to this fact. She believes educational technology should be used in the care of our students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
