George Veletsianos Q&A
I listened to audiocasts in which George Veletsianos answered our research-related questions, and his responses stood out as particularly insightful and informative. The following are some key takeaways:
Team One Question:
How do we affect change at a policy level?
- The key takeaway from this audiocast is that in order to change an organization’s policies, one must first cultivate relationships with people who have the power to make the change and be able to use data convincingly. Developing relationships and building a community within an organization is important in order to affect change at a policy level.
Team Four Question:
What is the most exciting innovation in ed-tech you see upcoming?
- The use of artificial intelligence in education is rapidly evolving and has great potential for the future.
- We need to think outside the box in order to create better learning spaces and opportunities for everyone. We need to be creative and innovative in our thinking and not be afraid to experiment with new ideas. Only by doing this can we hope to create a better future for ourselves and our communities.
Team Five Question:
Now that you are an experienced researcher, what advice would you give your younger self about conducting research?
- By reading broadly, we can develop a more holistic view of our topic of interest. Additionally, it would allow us to develop new connections and ideas we wouldn’t have thought of. So be sure to read broadly and think creatively!
- We should find a note-taking method that works for us and to stick with it. This will help us keep track of our ideas and progress in our research.
- We should use a bibliographic management tool as early on as possible. This will help us to be more organized and efficient in our reading and writing.
