Dr. Terry Anderson is a renowned Ed Tech Scholar and Senior Fellows with EDEN <\/a>and the Online Learning Consortia<\/a>. He is an emeritus professor at Athabasca University<\/a>, where he has significantly contributed to teaching and research in distance education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virtual Canuck<\/a> is his blog, where you can learn more about <\/a>Dr. Anderson and find a list of his publications<\/a>. I chose Dr. Anderson due to my passion for developing online and blended programs. Thus far, I have focused on his research in Teaching Crowds<\/a><\/em>, The Theory and Practice of Online Learning<\/a><\/em>, E-learning in the 21st<\/sup> Century<\/a><\/em>, and application in the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 25 Years of Ed Tech<\/em> <\/a>by Weller (2020), constructivism and connectivism are focus chapters. I suggest watching Dr. Anderson\u2019s keynote speech for the Next Generation Learning Conference<\/a> (2012). He explained the two learning theories impeccably and provided additional context for my learning. In my opinion, Dr. Anderson has a superb sense of humour too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also must highlight that throughout Dr. Anderson\u2019s career spanning over three decades, he has been recognized for numerous accolades, like the Leadership Award from the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education<\/a>. For many years, he was the editor of a well-recognized, peer-reviewed journal called The International Review of Research on Open and Distributed Learning<\/a>.<\/em> As an educator, Dr. Anderson consults and engages in interviews with organizations such as the Association for Learning Technology<\/a>, Universidade Aberta<\/a>, and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
