How might I disseminate my research once my research paper is completed?

As my focus is coming into view, I am feeling more strongly that I’m interested in employment related training, but am yet to determine exactly how best practices in micro learning and a community of inquiry will be included in my overall research question.

That being said, I would like to think that being published in an academic journal and being used at a professional development workshop would be two places for this work to be displayed and in a best case scenario used to aid in the direction an organization may approach their own professional development.   In order to achieve this, I can see myself getting peer reviews of the article in order to gain acceptance in the industry. Moreover, putting effort into establishing myself further as an instructional designer and networking in the industry could result in my work being respected to the point of being included in professional development (on how to conduct professional development!).

In addition, I could see success coming in a situation where I gain employment at an organization that builds online learning programming for businesses (and their own internal training), and my own published work could form the basis for a method we recommend to a particular business.

 

Just ideas at this point, but definitely intriguing to consider.
