Resident-Visitor Typology Map

Reflecting on my technology use, it was interesting to see that I skew more toward the visitor typology than I had initially thought. While I have always enjoyed technology, my personal use tends to be task-oriented and brief, aligning with White’s (2013) typology of a “visitor” who goes online for specific needs and then logs off. I usually keep my personal life and professional life separate, and historically have not usually been as enthusiastic about putting myself out there so much. Despite my tendency to avoid the spotlight and maintain privacy, I am passionate about technology and learning. Joining the MALAT program has sparked a new interest in expanding my digital footprint. I aim to enhance my professional presence and engage more deeply with the learning community by becoming more active on platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and WordPress so I can engage in the personal-resident typology more.
