For LRNT 622 the task is to develop a research question for my final research project and, looking towards the completion of the research, where my newly discovered knowledge could be disseminated. I am still in the beginning stages of developing my research focus, but so far I have settled on “How can the use of technology influence social-emotional learning (SEL): Technology-based strategies to support SEL in the classroom”. I have decided on three different magazines for publishing my research, as well as three conferences where I could be a presenter.
The magazines of choice are Childcare exchange, Elearn and The Early Childhood Educator of BC magazine. Childcare Exchange and The Early Childhood Educator of BC require a simple APA formatted essay submission, with Childcare Exchange asking for a 1500-1800 word essay.
ELearn magazine has a lengthier process from submission to publishing, but essentially is asking for an APA formatted essay. The conferences I would be interested to present for are the yearly Early Years conference at the University of British Columbia and the National Early Years conference offered by the Canadian Child Care Federation. Both of these conferences have an early year’s focus and my research portion on the effects of technology on SEL and technology in the classroom would be of interest. As a third conference option, I selected the yearly ECE BC conference at which I have been a presenter before.
The above choices for sharing my research are all achievable and a realistic goal for where I am situated in my career. I am looking forward to diving into my research project and sharing my findings with others in the future.
