As the owner of a child psychology clinic, I am using this research to inform the design and publishing of a brief online course for parents with children ages 0 to 6. The course focuses on developing emotional literacy. It will be hosted on our Kajabi platform, with the potential to integrate our social media channels, which have a combined reach of over 30,000 followers. This parenting course complements our new YouTube live-action series, JoJo Pie, which engages children through psychoeducational episodes to support the development of emotional literacy. Together, this two-generational learning experience supports co-viewing for greater impact on family learning.
Although evaluation is outside the scope of this research, we have collaborated with 2 preschools to test the content and relatability of the live-action character with children. In addition, once the parenting course is complete, we will reach out to our network to test the impact of the two-generational program on parent-child dyads. Details on this phase still need to be thoughtfully planned and is an exciting next step in understanding and evaluating the impact of our digital offerings for the families we support.
My MALAT learning, along with this research provides a solid foundation to build on as we expand our digital learning environment in evidence-informed ways. With several online resources already available, it will further help to adjust and shape the design of existing and future offerings as our digital library continues to grow.
