I always have been afraid of having a digital footprint, but after going through the articles of unit two, I learned that having a presence online can be very positive as long as I have control over my presence. My plan throughout this program is to embrace my digital footprint and become a participant and not just an observer online. Instead of being uncertain, as if what I post is not good enough, I will try to learn more and more throughout this program and gradually increase my digital presence.
In order to be successful in implementing my plan, I will make sure to read all the materials provided throughout the program to better my knowledge in whatever way I can, so I can have an enhanced control over my presence online. Update, review, and refinement of my existing profiles will be my next step. For example, I will review my LinkedIn profile and make sure to keep my account up-to-date with my most recent information. I will also explore other networking sites to make sure I can utilize all the tools available. Lastly, I will post regularly on my Twitter and my blog, and I will try to become an active member of my network by commenting on my peers’ posts.
I feel that I am on the track to success since this is my third post on my blog and I have already tweeted three times.![]()

Hi May –
I honestly don’t think you need to be afraid of developing an online presence. You can carefully decide what you want to reveal about yourself, and keep to those guidelines. I’ve found one of the most freeing aspects of an online presence is the ability to portray yourself as you wish.
LinkedIn is a great resource, and something to work on. I’ve had a LinkedIn profile for some time, and made the effort to produce a full profile. Last week I was contacted about a position by a recruiter who complimented me on my profile. That one contact made the effort worthwhile!
Three blog posts and three tweets – you’re way ahead of me!
