Starting this activity, I looked at examples from MALAT cohort before this; looking through, there were different ways that each person approached it. I’ve chosen to create my visual map in two different ways: specifically thinking about the modalities that I use to connect with others and where that network exists.

In considering the modalities, I focused on three primary areas of my life; work, education, and personal. There has been a lot of overlap between my work and personal life, and this is demonstrated even through the various technology use.
For demonstrating where my network exists, I exported my connections from LinkedIn and used Network Influencer to show the visual mapping in groups of people within organizations. This first image only shows organizations that I have two or more connections within, and it looks pretty limited.

When I go one step further out to show connections to organization with one or more people, the network gets broader.

But even showing the expanded connections, it doesn’t say much about my network. While I as an individual have these connections, either personally or through work, it doesn’t show all of the ways that individuals within the system are also connected to each other.
