Dave’s tension pair attempts to map professional practices with the objective of visualizing where in his grid those practices fall into. I don’t think his tension pair has to do with mapping or understanding digital literacies although they’re related to White’s tension pair. It’s an interesting exercise and I wish I was able to see what the yellow sticky notes say. In my view, one should probably start with Dave’s pair, as it is important to identify first what those qualities are and then find out the participants’ level of digital engagement by using White’s tension pair. In environments where teamwork is necessary, either for learning or workplace purposes, I do see how valuable Dave’s grid is.
