In this very short amount of time I’ve set up and customized my student blog and populated it with six posts. I have several drafts in the works which likely won’t be finished until after the current two courses are done. For example, one of the drafts I’m working on explains how to embed a Twitter feed in a WordPress site where there is no plugin support to do so, no ability to install plugins, and no ability to embed iframes (yes, there’s still a way…). I have Feedly setup to monitor student posts and comments, which makes it feel a bit like a MALAT dashboard. Over on Twitter, I have personalized my Twitter account and followed many people who seem to have valuable contributions in higher-ed, technology, and research. I’ve stuck to my plan and accomplished a lot in a short period of time. During this process I’ve learned a lot about Twitter, how people use Twitter, how to setup filters in Twitter, and learned a bit more about WordPress. I will continue with the plan as is, and look forward to days when I have more time to generate content. (Note that an audio version of this post has been submitted in Moodle)
