For assignment one, part two of LRNT 526, we were tasked to critically analyze a learning event on a topic delivered through a learning technology of our choosing. Our team, Digital Dreamers, selected the “Virtual, Mixed, and Augmented Reality” module, the second module in a larger course called “New Technologies for Business Leaders” through Coursera, as the delivery technology. Below is a summary of our analysis using an infographic format.

In conclusion, our team experience with Coursera has given us a better understanding of digital learning technology. We analyzed its content, effectiveness, and features using different frameworks and found it a positive experience. In addition, we gained valuable insights on how to use Coursera for effective learning. Finally, each team member left the experience with a better understanding of applying these insights in their professional development.

  1. Hello Digital Dreamers,

I appreciate your information-packed infographic! You’ve highlighted some significant barriers to using augmented reality (AR) in education and discussed its potential impacts on society.

I work in faculty development so I am curious about what new skills do teachers and instructional designers need to facilitate learning with AR. Did you find barriers to instructor/designer training and support ? What new skills do teachers and instructional designers need? Your post acknowledges changes in assessment, but what different pedagogical approaches are needed to create an engaging learning experience that motivates learners?
