When thinking through design principals, an exercise I haven’t had the opportunity to complete in the past, I found it challenging to focus on the needs of the learner vs. the wants of the organization. It was very interesting to note that while I am generally quick to judge when the organization is not ‘people centric’ I am also a culprit!
I worked at trying to attain a balance between the two; I blended what I thought what would be important to the learner, and conducive to their learning experience with what the organization and stakeholders would see as their priorities.
I believe that adhering to these principals would allow the adhere to the culture values of the organization while also creating parameters o ensure that people and safety were top of mind.
