I was fortunate to work with Andrea this week, and she was kind enough to agree to explore the topic of Digital Literacy and Young Learners. I have found through my journey so far at RRU that my own hesitancy to embrace digital spaces in a more personal way was not just a ‘me problem’ – in fact, it was affecting my son’s relationship with this space as well.
Having the opportunity and the space to dig in to this subject has certainly opened my eyes to the opportunities out there, life skills that are necessary, and positives in general when it comes to early access for young learners… and I’d love to hear your thoughts as well!

Great post, Jessica and Andrea! I enjoyed the very clear and practical tips.
One thing I have noticed is that new ideas and practices can seem imposing or even frightening until we really take the time to educate ourselves and critically evaluate the potential advantages and disadvantages. It is now almost impossible to just avoid digital spaces–better to thoughtfully engage in this vital part of society.
