It ‘s been five years since I’ve examined technology in education academically, I feel like there is a whole new world of information to explore. As a learning experience designer in global learning, I am extremely interested in AI and how our world of work may change in the next few years.

As a team, we have chosen AI to focus on for our assignment. In terms of the tools available, I am very new to the Open AI tool, I just subscribed last week. Even as I type this blog post, I’m noticing the updates that WordPress has made to their site. I’m interested to see how my work will be changed over the next few years as the Bank looks at utilizing Open AI or a variation thereof; to assist in learning and development. I’m specifically interested in the discussion by Haleem et al., (2022) on [how] “businesses can develop distinctive experiences for new audiences, boost engagement, and build trust with the aid of ChatGPT” (Haleem et al., 2022, p.6).

In my current role at the Bank, we are not using AI technology (yet), as part of creating and developing learning assets for global mandatory learning. Our content is specifically internal, meaning the content is specific to the Bank. I’m curious to know how the Bank, may “alter a generic model based on [our]own data to match [our] goals and reduce bias” (Haleem et al., 2022, p.6).

I intend to practice using ChatGPT more and explore its capabilities but also, I’m thinking about how our organization may implement this technology to aid us in developing more engaging learning for our large global internal audiences. Understanding that our Bank is very risk averse; policies, procedures, and processes need to be in place before we implement this technology in our team, which may take years.

I’m still in the throes of reading and researching articles, using the OECD conference on AI as our learning event which has provided lots of different avenues on the topic to explore. I am anxious to receive responses from the larger class to see what everyone else is focusing on for their individual topics. I welcome feedback on my post here for any who may be focusing on this area as well or any other comments others may have.

It’s exciting to be back after 5 years. I have much to learn about the technology, APA 7, and the latest updates to our WordPress blogs!
