Great topic Jeff!
Your timeline brings up a lot of references to game-based learning, which is directly linked to computers, but when it comes to gamification, which I understand to be adding game-like elements to a non-game context (education, loyalty rewards, etc.), do you think there are examples that pre-date the computer?

I think you’re right. The topic felt huge and I think I skimmed it a bit too much.
I think a complete gamification timeline I should likely go way back to less digital and more analog with things like early sports which were fun but had elements designed to teach and prepare warriors. I think this timeline might have to be a bit of a work in progress with more added along as I go. Good addition!

I agree Jeff, It is a huge topic, and I think those analog examples are hard to find and narrow down since they were not called gamification at the time.
