Spread the love

Information sharing activities in communities has four categories as stated by (Dron & Anderson, 2014), Strategic sharing, paradigmatic sharing, directive sharing and social sharing. Reflecting on my social network, I have discovered that I need to be strategically sharing information with my connections where I make a conscious strategic effort of maximizing efficiency rather than only sharing information for social, paradigmatic or directive purposes.

My visual network consists of diverse connections used for sharing information and general updates. For example, I currently connect with people through seven networks. Professionally, I connect through institutions like: Royal Roads University, Previous employers (InterContinental Hotel Group, Rotana Hotel Group, Extensya). Combining these networks together, twelve more sub-categories emerge.

What does this tell me? How will I be using this visual map in the future?

If I utilize my networks for sharing information strategically, I can give a louder conscious voice for my digital identity in the online space!
