The visual network map that I created using Kumu depicts my LinkedIn connections.  I chose to focus on LinkedIn as that is my professional network, whereas my personal network I keep separate in Facebook.

I have spent part of my career in the private sector and the latter half in the public sector.  I spent time in both the learning and development and general business fields. To understand how I am connected to different communities, I chose to define the communities based on the following criteria: in what sector a contact is employed (public or private); and in what capacity I am connected to that individual (learning and development or business).  When I see my visual map, my business network is larger than my learning and development network and these networks span both the public and private sectors.  With my future focus being learning and development I feel I need to grow that community.  In looking at the larger picture, I need to grow my digital identity using Facebook for professional purposes, creating an account on Twitter, and expanding my use of LinkedIn.
